Costigan Chief Mountain Bengals
Hey everyone sorry it's been a while since I have wrote our weekly Blog life as just been crazy lately.
Todays Blog is all about patterens and colors of Bengals. So lets start with types of Rosettes. Today in this Blog we are just going to look at all the different Rosetted types.
I also would like to give credit to Laurent Jaccard for this amazing charts he made if you would like to see more please click on the link button below to see more of Laurent's amazing charts of Bengal's.
We will Start with the Rosetted Arrow Head type of Rosetting.
I posted a photo here on the look of Arrow-Head Rosetteds and how much they have developed over time.
Hopefully this will help you understand and even decide what you like for your breeding program, or as a pet.
17 years ago most Bengal's only had the Arrow-Head Rosettes.
We would like to recognize Robyn Paterson who created this amazing chart of how the rosettes have developed over time. If you you like to see more of her great work please click on the button below the photo's to go to her website.
Now we will look at Paw-Prints and how they look and how they have developed over time.
As you can see these charts are old and need to be upgraded after this Blog I will be making a new and better chart.
Next we are going to take a look at Pancake/Donut Rosetting.
I post a photo of our King Ferros because I feel he looks like to me, a Pancake look with his Rosetting.
And my personal favourite Clouded Rosettes this is the newest Rosettes developed by breeders.
Our Bengalesse Calypso is our Clouded Rosetted Blengal in our Bengal Pride.
As you can see from the photos to now Clouded Rosettes have also come very far. Clouded Rosettes have only come out in the past 5 years.
Next is the Spotted pattern this is where Bengals started out 35 + years ago. Very tiny Rosettes and closed. We put this one near the Clouded Rosettes so you all can see the difference of how far we have come from then to now.
This is the basics of all the different Rosetting in Bengal's. And who knows what new things and colors we will come out with in the future.
You will have to forgive me we won't talk about Marble Bengals today, we will have to save that for another day. Marbles are very important if it were not for the sheeted Marble we would never been able to come up with our Clouded Rosettes.
If you would like to see and learn more about Bengal colors and patterens I highly recommend this vedio I watched it over, and over again when I first decided to get into Bengals.
